In 1964, John Bell came up with a way of testing whether quantum theory was a true reflection of reality. In 1982, the results came in – and the world has never been the same since!
Those of you who've been friends of Quantum Shorts for the long haul - we got started in 2012 - will notice that our website is looking different this year. If you're new here, we've made it easier for you to find all of the best quantum-inpsired film and fiction from our previous runs.
With Quantum Shorts having alternated between calls for short films and flash fiction year-to-year, we had been creating a new website for each run. These annual sites were ageing ungracefully into electronic obscurity. We have created this new site to better show their rich contents. We will now have just one home for both flavours of quantum-inspired creativity. You can find the entries shortlisted in previous years in the Film Archive and Fiction Archive.
Quantum Shorts is open this year to submission of short films that draw from the ideas and themes of quantum physics. Fiction writers, please enjoy the archives for now and come back for a new call for entries next year.
We hope you will like what we've done with the website. If you find anything that's broken or have comments on the site, please get in touch through our Contact form.
